A great combination of tourist attractions and industrial businesses
Another beautiful seaside province, Rayong is famous among residents of Bangkok. Only 220 km from the capital, it’s very popular for a weekend getaway and for its variety of fresh seafood.
The province is a major agricultural and industrial hub, with seaports and its “Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate” or “Map Tha Phut”.
But what make Rayong most famous are lovely beaches of Koh Samet. With its deep blue sea and white sandy beaches, the island is full of many beach resorts, restaurants, bars and water sport activities.
An excellent infrastructure plan, the project of Airport Rail Link is to build a new Eastern line on the Suvarnabhumi Airport-Chonburi-Pattaya-Rayong route.
The plan is to complete the project by 2017.
The approximate route of the new Eastern Line
– From Suvarnabhumi Airport-Chonburi-Rayong, for a distance of 206 km, departing from Bang Sue-Makkasan stations.
– From Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chachaoengsao for 50 km, with a travel time of 14 minutes (160 km/hr)
